CatDV Cloud Design & Deployment
Whether you’re deciding how to take your first or next step into cloud technology North Shore has the expertise you need. We are AWS specialists for a variety of reasons, but we can advise on many other platforms, especially surrounding storage and AI services.
While there are major upgrades to CatDV’s cloud capabilities on the way, so much can be done today and for the average organization, CatDV works great in the cloud, today. (For reference NSA deployed our first CatDV cloud system in 2010!)
We offer full design and consulting services with detailed documentation, planning and design guides, & templated architectures for the most common setups ready to deploy. We can make setting up a cloud system as easy as purchasing an on premise server and network. We work to demystify the cloud so you can focus on creative pursuits.
Here are some highlights of what we help customers with. As always, please reach out for more info.
Archive to S3 storage for cloud archive
We support all major brands of S3 storage, AWS, BackBlaze, Wasabi, etc.
Add a cloud-hosted Akomi DAM to your MAM to enable quick easy sharing of assets to non-production media users/consumers
Add cloud storage as an ingest point for remote organizations or departments instead of ftp, upload forms, or other accelerated file transfer systems
Integrate Lucidlink with a Worker Node to enable remote workflows
Integrate Lucidlink with a cloud-deployed Worker Node to enable remote workflow with no or minimal local storage at all
Move your entire MAM system (Server & Workers) to the cloud and take workflow 100% remote
This can be done with several architecture, storage, and workflow options
Set up a short term proof of concept system in the cloud to test and explore options
Quantum & JB&A offer demo codes for this use case
AWS offers free POC credits which cover the cost of cloud services for most POC projects
What have we done recently?
Moved a client with 5 freelance editors and two media managers out of their high rise offices into a fully remote workflow.
Added Akomi to a major US corporation marketing department to share 60,000 source and finished assets to dozens of remote marketing staff.
Moved/duplicated multiple on-premise archives to the cloud. From 10’s of terabytes to multi-petabyte scale.
Ingested S3/object buckets of existing data into MAM & DAM systems to help “figure out” what’s in these unstructured data silos.
Performed scanning and analysis of multiple data silos on premise and in the cloud to inventory storage as part of a data cleanup project
Moved on-premise VOD and OTT media libraries and workflows to the cloud to speed up content delivery operations. Interesting Note: As of May 2023 cloud transcoding can perform 100 to 300 hours of transcoding per hour for a 300:1 processing rate. 2,400 hours of content can be transcoded in a single shift.
