METADATA MIGRATION TOOLS

Worker JavaScript Script/Actions/Plugins

There is not an official name for these items in the CatDV eco-system but they are described by us (NSA) and CatDV-team internally as scripts or “plugins.” They are small applets which perform specific functions as part of a Worker Action

• CatDV SDR Lookup Application

  • Description: Enables Worker to lookup metadata from a source data record (SDR) and write that date to another record thereby automating tagging of assets in CatDV with data from another source

    • Note: With additional software SDRs may be created from simple csv/spreadsheet files or 3rd party data sources such as Airtable, AWS Honeycode and more

• Microsoft OneDrive Link in CatDV (Worker Scripting)

  • Description: Allows a user to paste in a OneDrive link to an asset and have it transformed to HTML code so that the link is clickable in CatDV

• CatDV Playlist Metaclip Creator

  • Description: CatDV Server supports “Playlist Metaclips” which are sequential playlists of clips which are stored as a group. There is no UI to create these playlists as of Server 9 and so NSA developed this app to allow workflows which receive segmented content to create these metaclips in CatDV via automation/API

CatDV Server GlobalUI JavaScript Plugins

• Metadata Propagate

  • Description: Enables Worker to check metadata from a user selected asset against existing records in CatDV Server with a single button action. Assets that are found to match the defined lookup criteria (example: Project ID)are displayed in a popup window in CatDV Web Client. They can then be selected and tagged with the metadata from the key asset (propagated) with a single button action

• CatDV Dupe Checker Application

  • Enables Worker or a user to check metadata from an incoming asset (typically name) against existing records in CatDV Server thereby notifying or preventing users from ingesting duplicate assets. Duplicates are displayed in a popup window for easy viewing and a user can choose to abort on continue with the ingest

• CatDV Related Clip Search

  • Enables a user to find assets related to the selected asset in CatDV Server with a single button action. Assets that are found to match the defined lookup criteria (example: Project ID) are displayed in a popup window in CatDV Web Client with clickable links for viewing
